EV Charger = voltage + Charging standard + power (For example: 3-Phase + Type 2 + 11KW)
Before purchasing, you need to know these knowledge
1. Power Type
- 1 Phase: 230V
- 3 Phase: 380V
2. Car charging port type
- Type 1 / Type 2
3. Power
- 3.5KW —— 16A 1-phase
- 7KW —— 32A 1-phase
- 11KW —— 16A 3-phase
- 22KW —— 32A 3-phase
Note: Currently, AC charger only distinguishes 4 power types.
3. Charging time = car battery capacity / power
- 1 phase power=230*current
- 3 phase power=380*current*1.732
What do I need to consider before choose a charger?
- Whether your car charging port is Type1 or Type2
- Does your car support 3-phase power supply?
- What is the maximum power and current supported by your car? Check car description or ask factory
- How long do you want to fully charge
Selection method
- Higher charging power, faster charging speed
- If your car supports 3-phase, you can choose 3-phase and 1-phase charger. If your car don't support 3-phase, you must choose 1-phase charger
- Car charging power ≥ charger power. For example, the charger maximum power is 11KW, and your car maximum charging power is 9KW. When charging, the maximum power will be 9KW.
- Home current ≥ charger power. For example, home current is 10A, and charger current is 16A. When charging, its maximum current is 10A (not exceeding home current )
